WoW Midnight Season 2 Mythic+ Affix Levels

Affixes are added as your Keystone level increases.

Keystone Level Affix
+2 Lindormi’s Guidance
+5 Xal’atath’s Bargain
+6 Lindormi’s Guidance is removed
+7 Fortified or Tyrannical
+10 Fortified and Tyrannical
+12 Xal’atath’s Bargain is replaced by Xal’atath’s Guile

This system lets players learn Mythic+ mechanics gradually.

At lower keys, Lindormi’s Guidance helps players learn routes.

At +5, the weekly Xal’atath’s Bargain becomes active.

At +7, Fortified or Tyrannical becomes active depending on the weekly rotation.

At +10, both Fortified and Tyrannical are active.

At +12, Xal’atath’s Bargain is replaced by Xal’atath’s Guile.

You can check the current weekly affixes in the Mythic+ section of the Group Finder.

Midnight Season 2 Mythic+ Dungeon Rotation

Season 2 has eight Mythic+ dungeons.

The rotation includes:

  • Altar of Fangs
  • Murder Row
  • Den of Nalorakk
  • The Blinding Vale
  • Voidscar Arena
  • King’s Rest
  • Temple of Sethraliss
  • Ruby Life Pools

Altar of Fangs is the new Season 2 dungeon.

The other seven dungeons come from the current Midnight pool and previous expansions. Blizzard confirmed the rotation when Season 2 launched.

What Are Mythic+ Affixes?

Affixes are extra dungeon mechanics that activate at specific Keystone levels.

They change how you approach the dungeon.

Some affixes affect trash.

Some affect bosses.

Others create additional mechanics that require your group to interrupt, dispel, move, or change targets.

The higher your Keystone becomes, the more affixes you need to manage at the same time.

This means that a +10 Mythic+ requires much more coordination than a low-level key.

Lindormi’s Guidance

Lindormi’s Guidance becomes active at +2.

It remains active through +5.

This affix is designed to help players learn Mythic+ dungeons.

Certain enemies are highlighted and affected by Temporal Sands.

Affected enemies have:

  • 5% less Health
  • 5% less Damage Done

The affix also removes the normal death penalty.

Deaths do not reduce the Mythic+ timer while Lindormi’s Guidance is active.

How to Handle Lindormi’s Guidance

Use these lower keys to learn the dungeon.

Focus on:

  • Enemy abilities
  • Interrupts
  • Crowd control
  • Boss mechanics
  • Pull sizes
  • Route planning
  • Positioning

Do not treat these keys as the final version of the dungeon.

The enemies become stronger once Lindormi’s Guidance disappears.

Lindormi’s Guidance Disappears at +6

At +6, Lindormi’s Guidance is removed.

The enemies are no longer weakened by Temporal Sands.

The dungeon therefore becomes more demanding.

This is a good point to start paying closer attention to your route, cooldown usage, interrupts, and defensive abilities.

Your group should already understand the basic dungeon mechanics before moving into this range.

Xal’atath’s Bargain

Xal’atath’s Bargain becomes active at +5.

One Bargain rotates each week.

The four Bargains are:

  • Ascendant
  • Voidbound
  • Pulsar
  • Devour

Each one creates a different mechanic.

You need to understand the active Bargain before starting your key.

The weekly affix can change how your group uses interrupts, target priority, movement, dispels, and crowd control.

Xal’atath’s Bargain: Ascendant

Ascendant creates groups of Orbs of Ascendance.

These orbs begin casting.

Your group needs to stop their casts using interrupts and crowd control.

You do not need to kill every orb.

The priority is stopping their casts.

Classes with AoE crowd control can help handle several orbs at once.

How to Handle Ascendant

When the orbs appear:

  1. Stop damaging the wrong targets.
  2. Watch the orb casts.
  3. Interrupt them.
  4. Use crowd control when several appear together.
  5. Communicate if your interrupt is on cooldown.

Do not use every interrupt before the entire group of orbs appears.

Save enough control tools to handle the complete wave.

The affix rewards groups that communicate and use their utility correctly.

Xal’atath’s Bargain: Voidbound

Voidbound creates a Void Emissary during the dungeon.

The Emissary becomes a priority target.

Your group should switch to it and kill it quickly.

The mechanic can increase pressure on the surrounding enemies if the Emissary is ignored.

How to Handle Voidbound

When the Void Emissary appears:

  • Switch targets
  • Use appropriate damage cooldowns
  • Kill the Emissary
  • Return to the main pack

Do not continue your normal rotation while ignoring the Emissary.

Target priority matters more than maintaining perfect single-target or AoE uptime.

Xal’atath’s Bargain: Pulsar

Pulsar creates void orbs that orbit players.

The orbs need to be moved into other players.

Your group needs to position correctly so the orbs can be collected.

How to Handle Pulsar

Keep your movement predictable.

Move toward another player when necessary.

Allow another player to collect your orb.

Do not run randomly around the group.

Movement speed abilities can help when you need to reach another player.

Good positioning makes this affix easier.

Poor positioning can force players to chase each other around the room.

Xal’atath’s Bargain: Devour

Devour applies a debuff that your group needs to handle.

Dispel and cleansing abilities can help remove the effect.

The exact tools available depend on your class and specialization.

For example, some classes can remove the effect directly while others need to rely on healing, defensive abilities, or other utility.

How to Handle Devour

Players should know before the dungeon starts who can help remove the effect.

Healers should watch the party frames.

Players with appropriate dispels should help when possible.

You should also avoid unnecessary damage while the effect is active.

Classes with strong cleansing tools can provide extra value during Devour weeks.

Fortified

Fortified becomes active at +7 on its weekly rotation.

It increases the Health and Damage Done of non-boss enemies by 20%.

This makes trash the main challenge.

Fortified can make certain enemy packs much more dangerous.

A pull that is easy during a lower key can become dangerous when Fortified is active.

How to Handle Fortified

Focus on trash control.

Use:

  • Interrupts
  • Stuns
  • Crowd control
  • Defensive cooldowns
  • AoE cooldowns
  • Priority target swaps

Tanks should plan pulls around dangerous enemy abilities.

DPS players should focus priority targets instead of only maximizing overall damage.

Healers should prepare for sustained incoming damage.

Tyrannical

Tyrannical becomes active at +7 on its weekly rotation.

It increases boss Health by 25%.

It also increases boss Damage Done by 15%.

This makes boss fights longer and increases the importance of defensive cooldowns.

A group that struggles with boss mechanics can have a difficult time on Tyrannical weeks.

How to Handle Tyrannical

Before starting the dungeon:

  • Learn every boss mechanic.
  • Plan defensive cooldowns.
  • Save important damage cooldowns.
  • Prepare healing cooldowns.
  • Avoid unnecessary deaths.
  • Use interrupts correctly.

Do not waste major cooldowns before a boss if you know you will need them shortly after entering the encounter.

Fortified vs Tyrannical

These two affixes test different parts of your group.

Affix Main Challenge
Fortified Trash
Tyrannical Bosses

Fortified puts more pressure on:

  • Tanks
  • Interrupts
  • Crowd control
  • AoE damage
  • Trash routes

Tyrannical puts more pressure on:

  • Boss damage
  • Defensive cooldowns
  • Healing cooldowns
  • Boss mechanics
  • Single-target damage

If your group struggles with trash, Fortified weeks can feel harder.

If your group struggles with bosses, Tyrannical weeks can feel harder.

What Changes at Mythic+ 10?

At +10, both Fortified and Tyrannical become active.

You now deal with:

  • Stronger trash
  • Stronger bosses
  • Xal’atath’s Bargain
  • Dungeon mechanics
  • The Mythic+ timer

This is an important progression point for players pushing higher keys.

A group that can comfortably handle +9 may need to change its strategy when moving into +10.

You need stronger execution rather than simply more damage.

Your Mythic+ performance also matters for your Great Vault.

Read our WoW Midnight Season 2 Great Vault Guide to understand how your completed keys affect your weekly rewards.

Xal’atath’s Guile

At +12, Xal’atath’s Bargain is replaced by Xal’atath’s Guile.

Xal’atath’s Guile adds a larger death penalty.

Each death removes 15 seconds from the remaining dungeon time, up to the final minute.

This makes deaths more expensive.

At this level, your group needs to reduce avoidable deaths.

How to Handle Xal’atath’s Guile

Before each dangerous pull:

  • Check your defensive cooldowns.
  • Check healer mana.
  • Check interrupts.
  • Check crowd control.
  • Plan escape options.
  • Know which enemy abilities can kill players.

Do not rush into a pull just to save a few seconds.

A death can cost more time than the pull saves.

Mythic+ Affix Strategy by Keystone Level

+2 to +4

Focus on learning the dungeon.

Learn:

  • Routes
  • Boss mechanics
  • Enemy abilities
  • Interrupts
  • Crowd control
  • Positioning

Lindormi’s Guidance helps make this learning process easier.

+5

Xal’atath’s Bargain becomes active.

Start paying attention to the weekly affix.

Learn its mechanic before entering the dungeon.

+6

Lindormi’s Guidance disappears.

Enemies are no longer weakened.

Start treating the dungeon as a serious progression environment.

+7 to +9

Fortified or Tyrannical becomes active.

Your group needs to adjust depending on the weekly rotation.

+10 and higher

Both Fortified and Tyrannical are active.

The dungeon becomes more demanding.

You need stronger execution from every member of the group.

+12 and higher

Xal’atath’s Guile replaces Xal’atath’s Bargain.

Deaths become more expensive.

At this point, clean execution becomes one of the most important parts of completing the key.

How to Check the Weekly Mythic+ Affixes

You can check the current affixes through the Mythic+ section of the Group Finder.

Look at the affixes before choosing which key to run.

The weekly rotation can affect which dungeons and group compositions feel easier.

You should also check the active affix before changing your talents.

Some classes have talents that provide extra value during specific affix weeks. Current class guides show different talent recommendations for Ascendant, Voidbound, Pulsar, and Devour.

Best Mythic+ Utility for Affixes

Mythic+ is not only about DPS.

Utility can make a major difference.

Useful tools include:

  • Interrupts
  • Stuns
  • Silences
  • Fears
  • Incapacitate effects
  • Dispel
  • Remove Curse
  • Poison removal
  • Disease removal
  • Defensive cooldowns
  • Movement abilities

For example, Ascendant rewards groups that can stop multiple casts.

Voidbound rewards fast target swapping.

Pulsar rewards good movement.

Devour rewards groups that can manage its debuff efficiently.

Mythic+ Affix Tips for Tanks

Tanks should know the weekly affix before starting the key.

During Ascendant, prepare your crowd control and interrupts.

During Voidbound, switch targets quickly when the Emissary appears.

During Pulsar, keep your movement predictable.

During Devour, know which defensive and cleansing tools you have.

During Fortified, plan your trash pulls carefully.

During Tyrannical, understand which boss abilities require defensive cooldowns.

At +12 and above, avoid unnecessary deaths because Xal’atath’s Guile makes each death more costly.

Mythic+ Affix Tips for Healers

Healers should prepare for the weekly mechanic.

During Devour, watch the party frames closely.

During Ascendant, help identify dangerous casts.

During Pulsar, keep players healthy while they move.

During Voidbound, be prepared for extra pressure when the Emissary appears.

During Fortified, expect stronger trash damage.

During Tyrannical, prepare cooldowns for boss mechanics.

Do not rely on healing alone to fix mistakes.

Your group should use its defensive and utility abilities.

Mythic+ Affix Tips for DPS

DPS players should not focus only on the damage meter.

Your utility can help determine whether a key succeeds.

Interrupt dangerous casts.

Help control Ascendant orbs.

Switch to Void Emissaries.

Handle Pulsar correctly.

Help remove Devour when your class allows it.

Use defensive abilities before taking lethal damage.

A player who handles mechanics correctly can provide more value than a player who ignores mechanics for higher damage.

How to Prepare for a Mythic+ Key

Before starting your key:

  1. Check the weekly affixes.
  2. Check the dungeon route.
  3. Learn the boss mechanics.
  4. Prepare interrupts.
  5. Prepare dispels.
  6. Set up defensive abilities.
  7. Check your talents.
  8. Bring consumables.
  9. Communicate important mechanics.
  10. Start the key when everyone is ready.

Preparation becomes more important as your Keystone level increases.

How to Improve Your Mythic+ Rating

Your Mythic+ Rating depends on your performance across the Season 2 dungeon rotation.

Blizzard has set these major Season 2 milestones:

  • 1500 Rating for Keystone Conqueror
  • 2000 Rating for Keystone Master
  • 3000 Rating for Keystone Legend

Keystone Master rewards the Breath of Blight mount.

Keystone Legend rewards the Breath of Ruin mount.

Season 2 also adds Keystone Myth.

Blizzard has set a 3600 Mythic+ Rating requirement for the Season 2 Keystone Myth achievement.

To improve your rating:

  • Learn every dungeon.
  • Time more keys.
  • Reduce deaths.
  • Interrupt more casts.
  • Improve your route.
  • Use defensive cooldowns.
  • Learn every weekly affix.
  • Communicate with your group.
  • Push higher keys gradually.

Mythic+ and Your Great Vault

Your Mythic+ activity also contributes to your weekly Great Vault.

This makes Mythic+ useful for both character progression and weekly rewards.

If your goal is to improve your character quickly, combine Mythic+ with Raid and World Content.

Read our WoW Midnight Season 2 Great Vault Guide for the full weekly reward system.

You can also use our WoW Midnight Season 2 Best Gear Guide to plan which gear upgrades you should prioritize.

Mythic+ and Tier Sets

Mythic+ is also part of your overall Tier Set progression.

The Great Vault can provide Tier Set pieces, making your weekly Mythic+ runs useful even when a dungeon does not directly drop the item you need.

If you are trying to complete your Season 2 set bonus, read our WoW Midnight Season 2 Tier Set Guide.

Your Tier Set bonus can be more important than taking a small item-level increase on another equipment slot.

Mythic+ and Delves

You do not need to play Mythic+ every day to progress your character.

Delves provide another way to obtain gear and contribute to the World section of your Great Vault.

If you prefer solo or small-group content, read our WoW Midnight Season 2 Delves Guide.

Combining Delves with Mythic+ can give you more weekly gearing options.

Season 2 Mid-Season Update

Patch 12.1.5 arrives on October 13, 2026.

The update adds several new pieces of Season 2 content, including:

  • The Unbinding of Kith’ix
  • Labyrinth of Kindo’jan
  • Season 2 Keystone Myth
  • New story content
  • Aqir Invasions
  • Additional Season 2 progression

Blizzard has confirmed that Keystone Myth requires a Mythic+ Rating of 3600 for the Season 2 achievement.

This gives high-level Mythic+ players another target during the second half of the season.

Should You Push Mythic+ 12 or Higher?

That depends on your goal.

If your main goal is gear, +10 is an important target because it gives access to strong Great Vault progression.

If your goal is Mythic+ Rating, achievements, portals, or Keystone Myth, you should continue pushing higher.

Blizzard also awards dungeon portals for completing Mythic 10 or higher within the time limit.

At +12 and higher, Xal’atath’s Guile replaces the rotating Bargain.

This changes the focus toward clean execution and avoiding deaths.

Tips for Timing Higher Keys

Higher keys require more than high item level.

Focus on these areas:

Learn the Route

Know what your tank plans to pull.

Know Enemy Abilities

You should know which casts must be interrupted.

Use Defensive Cooldowns

Do not wait until you are almost dead.

Respect Mechanics

Avoidable damage costs healer mana and can lead to deaths.

Use Your Utility

Interrupts, stuns, dispels, and crowd control can save time.

Communicate

Tell your group when your interrupt or defensive cooldown is unavailable.

Adapt to the Weekly Affix

Your strategy should change depending on the active affix.

Final Thoughts

WoW Midnight Season 2 Mythic+ becomes more demanding as you climb through the Keystone levels.

At +2, learn the dungeon with Lindormi’s Guidance.

At +5, learn the weekly Xal’atath’s Bargain.

At +6, prepare for the removal of Lindormi’s Guidance.

At +7, Fortified or Tyrannical becomes active.

At +10, both Fortified and Tyrannical are active.

At +12, Xal’atath’s Guile replaces Xal’atath’s Bargain and makes deaths more expensive.

The key to higher Mythic+ keys is not only damage.

You need to handle mechanics, interrupt important casts, use defensive abilities, control enemies, and avoid unnecessary deaths.
